Have questions?
We’re so excited you’re here!
We are visiting for the first time, what do we need to do?
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. Please complete our registration form and let the teacher know that it is your child’s first time attending EBC Kids. If you complete the registration form by Friday afternoon, Samantha Scaturro, our EBC Kids Director, will reach out by email or text to introduce herself and help you feel prepared for Sunday.
Does my child have to register every Sunday?
No. Families only need to complete the registration form once per child. You do not need to fill it out every time you attend.
What happens during the Sunday morning kids programs?
Our Sunday children’s programs are designed to help children KNOW, GROW, and GO in their faith while providing a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment.
Nursery: The nursery is available throughout the entire service, including worship. Children are lovingly cared for in a safe environment while parents participate in the service.
Kids Church: Children begin the service in the sanctuary with their families, giving them the opportunity to worship, sing, and participate in the life of our church alongside the congregation. Before the sermon, children are dismissed from the sanctuary and head downstairs to the Kids Church classrooms.
Once downstairs, children receive Bible lessons presented at their developmental level, along with opportunities to participate, ask questions, create, play, and connect what they are learning to their everyday lives.
Our goal is not simply to keep children occupied while adults attend church. We want every child to feel known, loved, included, and excited to learn about God's Word.
Can my child stay with me during the service?
Absolutely. Your child is welcome to remain with you for the entirety of the service if that works best for your family. We want you to choose the experience that feels most comfortable for your child and your family.
What happens if my child needs me?
We encourage children to remain with their peers whenever possible, but we understand that sometimes a child needs their parent. We keep current parent contact information on file and will contact you if your child needs you. Depending on the situation, a team member may also come find you directly.
What if my child has a disability or additional support needs?
We want every child to have the opportunity to participate in Kids Church, learn about God's Word, and GROW alongside their peers.
Our Buddy Ministry provides individualized support for children who may benefit from additional assistance during Kids Church. We also have a calm corner with sensory and comfort items such as fidgets, weighted blankets, Pop-Its, squishies, and stuffed animals.
We maintain a list of church members who have been trained and have expressed a willingness to serve as a 1:1 Buddy when available. Because every child has unique needs, we encourage families to connect with our Buddy Ministry Leader before attending so we can learn more about your child and determine what support would be most appropriate.
When a 1:1 Buddy is not available, we may ask a parent or caregiver to remain with their child while we get to know their needs and determine the best way to support their participation. Our goal is always to work collaboratively with families to remove barriers and help every child feel welcomed and included.
What should my child bring?
Just themselves—and a heart ready to learn about the Lord!
What happens if we're late?
That's okay! Life happens.
If your child is in the nursery: The nursery is open for the entire service, including worship, so you may bring your child directly to the nursery whenever you arrive.
If your child attends Kids Church: If you arrive during worship, simply find a pew and join us for worship until it is time for the children to be dismissed. If you arrive after worship, you may escort your child to their classroom and a Kids Church team member will help you from there.
Is there a difference between the children's program at the 9:00 and 10:30 services?
Yes! Both services provide opportunities for children to learn about God's Word, but the format and group environment are a little different.
9:00 AM — A Smaller, More Consistent Group
Miss Nicole teaches every Sunday at 9:00 AM and leads a whole-group Bible lesson. This service typically has a smaller, more intimate group of children, creating a quieter and calmer environment for learning.
The 9:00 service can be a great fit for children who thrive with consistency, predictability, and familiar adult caregivers. Having the same teacher each week can help some children feel comfortable, build relationships, and know what to expect when they arrive.
10:30 AM — Whole Group + Age-Level Learning
The 10:30 AM service typically has more children attending. Our teachers and helpers serve on a monthly rotation based on their availability, so families may see different teachers from week to week.
Children begin together as a whole group before separating by age for Bible teaching. Our PreK–1st and 2nd–5th grade groups receive Bible lessons presented at their developmental level, along with opportunities to participate, ask questions, create, play, and connect what they are learning to their everyday lives. We come back together as a whole group to wrap up our time together.
July–October Schedule
From July through October, we have one Sunday service, so our children's programming combines elements of both formats into one group experience.
Can siblings be together?
Siblings may remain in the same classroom when they fall within the designated age range for that classroom. Our classrooms and child-to-adult ratios have been intentionally designed with New York State OCFS guidelines as a reference for appropriate group size and supervision.
If your child is having difficulty separating from a sibling or caregiver, please reach out to our EBC Kids Director, Samantha (samanthaebckids@gmail.com). We can work with your family to explore additional supports and determine what may help your child participate comfortably.
